Nassera Guerroumi, originally from France, has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 2005. She began hands-on training as an apprentice with James Figueira at the Yoga Shala in 2007, and has spent well over 200 hours in an intensive work / study of yoga.  As a part of her dedication to the Ashtanga method of yoga, she regularly visits Mysore, India, to practice with Sharath Ragaswami at the KPJAYI. Her background as a serious runner helps her to be very effective in guiding people through issues such as hip and joint pain.  Not only is Nassera an effective instructor, she also is a very giving one as she donates her time and enthusiasm by teaching yoga classes for charities in Singapore.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga can be described as a more vigorous routine, using a flowing sequence of yoga postures to generate body heat, which purifies the body through sweating and deep breathing.

In Ashtanga yoga, people usually practice independently. Step-by-step, they receive poses which they can then practice in classes or at home. By showing dedication and finesse through practise, the students will get more poses. This is what we call Mysore classes.

It may be a little more difficult sometimes for people to follow these kind of classes but that is the way how Nassera has acquired her knowledge which she has found to be extremely effective.

Beginners are welcome to join our weekly classes or you can also sign up for the normal led classes where you can follow Nassera and she counts through the poses for practise.
